'Lace' came to live with us at Minstergate in September 2009 on what was hopefully a 6 months stay. However, as Pagan in her final litter produced only 1 male puppy, it meant that Lace would be staying with us forever.
When I arrived at Three Counties show in June 2009, Gil asked if I wanted to handle Lace at her first show knowing I am a glutton for punishment! I said I would & spent the morning getting to know Lace before we entered the ring. I am delighted to say, she behaved very well and took it all in her stride to win Puppy Bitch & Best Puppy in Breed. I continued to handle Lace at the shows I was at and together we made a good team.
Lace went on to win another 6 Best Puppy in Breed awards including the WCGB Ch Sh and her Junior Warrant.
In
the few months Lace has been living with me,
I have been training her with a view to her being
my next field trial dog. Her training has been coming on well & she
is a great pointer and hunts with tenacity. Her retrieving is improving
but given the the time I have had she aint doing bad!
She was shot over for the first time in December 2009 & I was extremely
proud of her that day. She worked very maturely and had some excellent
finds on English partidge giving her the opportunity to have her first
hunt, point & retrieve.
